Animal Health Diagnostic Center - Sample Submission

HERDA Genetics Testing Program

Dr. Nena Winand's Molecular Genetics Laboratory in the College of Veterinary Medicine is offering a test for Hereditary Equine Regional Dermal Asthenia (HERDA), through the Animal Health Diagnostic Center. The test detects a single gene mutation responsible for the disease, as seen in Quarter Horses, and identifies normal, carrier and affected horses.
